It’s that time of year again, and through many trials and tribulations, we prevail! Our Spring Production has faced many difficulties this year, from costume mishaps to a spike in COVID cases all around Santa Cruz. And not to mention the same-day re-scheduling of the entire show! But through it all, we have proved our adaptability, resilience, and love of dance!
We will be having our Spring Production this Saturday, May 28th at 1pm at the Cabrillo Crocker Theater.

“Unprecedented times” indeed
For those who haven’t heard—we were informed of the theater’s closure the morning of the show. A performer who was in there the day before tested positive for COVID. It was devastating news for dancers young and old—many tears were shed, and in order to reduce the bummer of the whole situation, IAD responded in the only logical way. We held our own impromptu performance at our studio.
In-studio show
We couldn’t have done it without our stellar community. Many parents and dancers really came through to make it happen, from re-doing the show order to decorating the stage—we are so eternally grateful for your support.
And what a crazy day it was! Our staff was running through the streets shouting when the next performance was going on so that families could cram into the studio and see their dancer light up the stage.
All’s well that ends well
In the end, it was truly a memorable experience. And it really showed the resiliency of our studio, dancers, and families alike. What a crazy Spring Production we’re having! Thank you all for making it a magical experience, and we can’t wait to see you on the big stage this Saturday 🙂
