We’re so excited to announce that some of our Level IV students will be going en pointe this summer!
It’s a huge step in their dancing careers, and they worked so hard to get here. We couldn’t be more proud!
How do you go en pointe?
It varies from dancer to dancer, but some of our dancers that are going en pointe this summer have been dancing with us since they were three years old! Needless to say (but I’ll say it anyway), it takes years of practice and dedication to even be considered to go en pointe. It takes going to at least three 2-hour classes a week, and having done this for years on end.
At our studio, we held Pointe Evaluations, where our beloved Miss Shannon sat down with each girl individually. Then, from watching them move and seeing their strength and flexibility, she decided if they were ready to go en pointe or not. It’s a big step for these dancers, and we’re so excited for them!
What happens next?
After a successful Pointe Evaluation, we called over the Toe Truck from Metronome Dancewear and had our dancers fitted! Some of them had to try on every available brand to find the one that worked for their feet, and it was an all-day operation of Cinderella-esque fun.
But of course, the fitting is just the beginning. Next week, we’re starting a Pointe Training Program for our new-to-pointe dancers! We couldn’t be more excited for these young ladies, and we can’t wait to watch them soar!
Want to join?
While it’s a long road to earning your pointe shoes, we’re offering ballet for every day of the week! It takes many years of dedication to reach the ability to go en pointe, but the love of dance is felt every step of the way. If you’d like to join us, we’d love to have you! Check here for our adult schedule, and here for our children/teen schedule. We can’t wait to dance with you!
