Nutcracker Auditions
On August 26th, we will be having our annual Nutcracker Auditions! The Nutcracker Performance is the highlight of the winter season each year. At IAD, we boast an all-age cast! There’s a role for all dancers, big and small, so if you’d like to dance on stage please come to auditions this August 26th!

New Acro/Theater for Dancers Classes
This year, for our Level IV/V/VI dancers, we’re offering a brand new Acro and Theater for Dancers class! They are distinct dances, but take up the same timeslot (Thursdays at 7:30-8:30 PM). Each section (Acro or Theater) will be offered on alternating weeks. So one week dancers will go to the Acro class with Miss Paris, and the other week they will go to Theater with Miss Pat. It’s a great opportunity for dancers to hone their performance skills! Sign up for our Fall Schedule for 23-24!
New Ensemble Teams
Our Performance Teams last year swept away the competitions, and even Nationals—but this year we’re upping the ante (as well as changing the name again). Our Level III Performance Team Ensemble will expand to all styles of dance (not just ballet), and our Level IV/V/VI team will be undergoing a more rigorous training schedule. Last year, students were just required to be in ballet, lyrical, and jazz. This year, students must add acro/theater, jumps/turns, and conditioning to their (already packed) schedules.
Also, don’t forget about the Tap Performance Team! Students will be required to attend all classes in their level (but Hip-Hop) if they’d like to be part of both performance teams. That’s 15.25 hours/week, plus their ballet classes (an extra 5.5 for Level IV dancers, and an extra 7.5 for Level V/VI dancers). Which totals to 20.75 to 22.75 hours of dancer per week!
And from there, dancers can add an extra 45 minutes for the final performance team, Ballet Ensemble IV/V/VI. This heavily loaded schedule is for our most dedicated dancers. Meaning, dancers who are on track to become ready for the professional world. We’re so excited for the growth these dancers will have this year!
